HILLTOP CHILD DEVELOPMENT RESEARCH LAB

Hilltop Child Development Lab (CDL) is a research-based childcare center at the University of Kansas focusing on applied behavioral sciences and clinical child psychology.

CDL is housed in the existing two-story building that resides at Hilltop’s current location in Lawrence, KS. The program consists of observation rooms and classrooms, shared spaces; lobby, library, multipurpose space, and department rooms of office and meeting spaces.

The CDL follows the Reggio Emilia educational approach and the design emphasizes sensory and homelike elements throughout the space to create an interactive experience for the users.

Redesign of entire building that enhances user experience and meets the CDL’s program needs.
